In the wake of last month's U.S. Supreme Court ruling upholding a key part of the Affordable Care Act, 24 business groups are urging Congress to make what they say are much-needed changes to the law.
The reforms the groups want are not spelled out in the short, one-page letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). Instead, the groups ask for the opportunity to discuss several pieces of legislation proposing changes.
"Though the broader debate continues with respect to the ACA overall, there are numerous bipartisan bills that could bring real relief to the employers we represent and their employees," the groups said. "We encourage you to work together to help advance these bipartisan changes to the ACA."
